ABA Pathways offer respite support for children with autism, intellectual disabilities and other complex needs. This support can be delivered within the home, in the community or at one of our tailor made premises. We can provide this support on a schedule that fits each unique circumstance; this can be on a regular, weekly basis or for ad hoc sessions when you need childcare that you know you can trust to meet your child’s needs.

All of our staff are highly trained in working with individuals with additional needs and specialise in applied behaviour analysis and positive behaviour support procedures in order to encourage independence and reduce challenging behaviours which may be acting as barriers to them accessing a more fulfilling life.

We can build a team of staff to support each individual and have qualified consultants (BCBA/UKBA(certs) available to supervise, where necessary, to ensure we can meet each unique need and open up their world to as many new and exciting opportunities as possible.

Some examples of activities in the community that we have supported our children to access include: soft plays, trampolining, swimming, rock climbing, safaris, the list goes on! For those who may prefer a quieter environment, and need support to build their confidence before accessing the wider community, we have access to our three premises which each offer different types of activities, including: arts & crafts, messy play, trampolining, play park, sensory room, soft play, mud kitchen and many more.

We are also in the process of arranging access to a private hydrotherapy swimming pool which can be booked out to ensure a calm and relaxing environment, so that those children who find a noisy pool too overwhelming don’t have to miss out on the experience of going swimming.

ABA Pathways can be commissioned directly via Essex and Thurrock councils, or we can accept payment packages through services such as Purple. If you do not currently receive a support package from the local authority, we are more than happy to talk you through this process and help you to decide if this is a route you would like to investigate in order to better meet the needs of your child and your family.
